Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs) provide flexible, high density material handling solutions.
Kardex Shuttle XP Vertical Lift Modules (VLMs) offer flexible, high-density material handling solutions. These systems can reduce floor space usage by up to 85%, while significantly increasing productivity with goods-to-person delivery.
VLMs are ideal for operations managing parts of various sizes. They streamline storage and order picking and can integrate with barcode scanners, conveyor systems, lifting devices, and robotic automation, creating a fully connected and efficient workflow.
How the Kardex Shuttle XP Works
The Kardex Shuttle XP is a modular, enclosed system that stores trays in vertical columns—one in front and one in back. A central extractor automatically delivers trays to the operator at the access point, triggered by a button or barcode scan.
With Cubestar® technology, the Shuttle XP scans each tray and assigns it an optimal position, using space in 1-inch (25 mm) increments. This smart allocation minimizes wasted space and improves storage density.
Efficient Storage, Built to Adapt
The modular design of the Kardex Shuttle XP adapts to almost any ceiling height. Units increase in 3.9-inch (100 mm) steps, offering unmatched flexibility. If your facility changes, your Shuttle XP can move with you—modules can be added, removed, or reconfigured as needed.
Up to six access openings can be installed on the front or rear of the unit, even across multiple floors. These can be adjusted post-installation to suit your layout. Every opening is protected by a shutter door to safeguard operators and stored goods.
